At Kanambo Hunting, we offer tailored experiences for our hunters. We work out a suggestion based on the size of your group, your skill level, the type (or types) of hunting that you want to do, and anything else that you need to have a successful hunting season. Win a weekend for you and 5 friends at a secluded Bushveld Tented Camp
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. We think this one is the perfect example of that:
And even if we tried to write a thousand words describing it, it still wouldn’t completely capture the real experience of staying at our Bushveld Tented Camp. That’s why we’re giving away a firsthand experience of our piece of wilderness paradise in the Otjiwarongo region, for free. All you have to do is enter our competition on social media and you could win a weekend’s exclusive use of our private tented camp for you and 5 friends.
The prize up for grabs: A secluded wilderness experience
The Bushveld Tented Camp
Our permanent Bushveld Tented Camp is situated on a rocky outcrop 7km away from the main farmstead. It has incredible views of the sunrise and a breathtaking view of the night sky, undisturbed by urban light pollution. You will have exclusive access to the entire tented camp, which includes three tents (sleeping 2 people each), the semi-open-air bathroom (with a toilet and shower) located behind the tents, and the kuier area with its fire pit and amazing views. Talk about open-plan living!
The kuier area
The kuier area is where you’ll have your coffee and tea in the mornings, your drinks in the evenings and your meals throughout the day – all of which are included in the prize (except for alcoholic drinks – regrettably). This little spot is very close to our hearts. We used special bits and pieces of our farm that we’ve collected over the years to create a bar and kitchen area unlike any other. The bar stools are made from old tractor seats mounted to milk canisters, the bar itself is made from old milk barrels, and the guy behind the bar pouring you a drink? Well, although he is very much a part of the farm, he is neither old nor made from anything other than 100% pure Dolf.
Your activities on the farm, all presented by Dolf – your personal guide
Dolf will be your personal guide for any activities that you want to do on the farm. He loves taking guests on adventures on the farm and in the surrounding conservancy. Whether you want to try your hand at target shooting, see the off-the-grid setup of the farmstead, go on a short hike or even a rock climbing mission (experienced climbers only), Dolf will make it happen. His experience as a professional hunter also means that he knows the behaviour of the wild, free-roaming animals on the conservancy and he can track them with ease. So, if you’re interested in wildlife viewing and photography Dolf will happily put his skills to the test and take you on a game drive, walking photo safari, or a visit to the photographic hides. If you’d like to know more about Dolf and his role on the farm, read our blog about him here.
The most important question: Who should I take?
If you’re considering entering this competition then you have an important decision to make – who would you want to share this experience with? This secluded bushveld experience is for a group of people (6 or less) who want to get away from it all to experience stillness, togetherness and – of course – wilderness.
Whether you are a church group, a family in need of some quality time, explorers and climbers looking to conquer another challenging landscape, or a group of friends planning your next adventure – this is the place for you. Use it as an opportunity to relax, to quiet your mind, to experience the unknown, to get closer as a team, or to have your annual stillness retreat. Whatever you decide to do, we know that our humble Bushveld Tented Camp surrounded by thousands of hectares of wilderness will not disappoint. The unique bar and the photos behind it tell the story of this special place, it’s history and the people who have left their footprints here. We hope that you will leave your footprints here too.
Good luck in the competition and remember – if you don’t win, just keep following us on social media. This is only the first of many competitions and special offers!
